What is Medicare Advantage?
Medicare Advantage is Part C of Medicare. In its most basic form, Medicare Advantage is an equivalent to Parts A & B from Medicare-approved private insurance companies.

How Do I Enroll In A Medicare Advantage Plan?
To enroll in Medicare Advantage, you must be enrolled in Medicare parts A and B, continue to pay your Part B premium, and live within the plans service area. You can choose to enroll in an MAPD during your Initial Enrollment Period upon first joining Medicare, or each year during during the Annual Enrollment period from October 15th - December 7th. You may also qualify for a Special Election Period that allows you to enroll outside these windows.

What Does Medicare Part C Cover?

Medicare Advantage Plans always cover emergency and urgent care.

Medicare Advantage Plans provide all of your Part A and Part B benefits, excluding clinical trials (clinical research studies), hospice services, and, for a temporary time, some new benefits that come from legislation or national coverage determinations. Be sure to contact your plan if you have questions about covered services.

Most Medicare Advantage plans include Medicare prescription drug coverage (Part D).
What If I Have Medicare Due To Disability?
People under 65 who have been on Social Security Disability for 24 months or have ESRD or ALS are eligible for Medicare. When on Medicare due to disability, you can choose any Medicare Advantage plan or Stand Alone Prescription Drug Plan available to Medicare recipients in your area.
