What is Dental and Vision?
Dental and vision insurance are standalone polices that help cover your expenses at the dentist office and optometrist. Most health insurance polices don't cover these two items, so you often need to add coverage on your own.
How Does Dental Work?
Dental Insurance usually costs between $30 to $70 a month depending on how much coverage you would like. Dental policies usually work on a 100/80/50 structure.
100% of preventative services like cleanings and x-rays.
80% of "Minor Work" services like cavities.
50% of "Major Work" services such as bridges, implants, extractions, and more.
Generally, the higher your monthly premium, the more your insurance will help pay for the "Major Work" category.
How Does Vision Work?
Vision helps cover your expenses at the optometrist. These plans cost between $10-$20/month and can pay for eye exams and glasses and contacts.
Most plans help with one eye exam per year and will help with glasses or contacts every 12 to 24 months.

Does Medicare cover Dental and Vision?
Unfortunately, Original Medicare does not currently cover Dental and Vision.
